Solaris LS - Light Guiding

Many LCD application require a maximum of external light. In order to accommodate these requirements PSC has developed the Solaris™ LS 001 filter with a light transmittance of 100 % compared to transparent acrylic.

Properties of Solaris™ LS

The Solaris™ LS 001 filter is produced in transparent acrylic with an integrated light guiding material. Therefore the filter has the same high transmittance as transparent acrylic, but unlike that material the filter from PSC provides increased contrast and thus greater readability.

The properties of the Solaris™ LS 001 filter can be combined with other colours and, in particular, broadband filters.

Solaris™ LS 001 not only protects the LCD against physical effects – it also absorbs the harmful UV rays (below 400 nm) from the sun.

The acrylic monomer (MMA) which is used as the raw material is as standard filtered down to 7 microns before moulding, resulting in a high degree of light transmittance through the filter.
