Polycarbonate Filters

The properties of polycarbonate make the material suitable for use in displays, information boards and Passenger Information Systems (PIS) which are extensively used in such places as mass transportation vehicles, bus- and train stations, and aeroplanes.

Properties

Polycarbonate is highly resistant to shock and impact. The transmittance of visible light is 85%, UV light is almost completely absorbed.

Polycarbonate has good fire behaviour characteristics. Lexan® sheet does not contribute significantly to the spread of fire or to the generation of toxic gasses.

Normally polycarbonate is only available in clear or solar bronze. However, utilising our expertise in the field of filtering of light, we can supply polycarbonate filters in PSC specified colours and thicknesses.

Further refinement

The material can be bent in a cold state for 3-D applications with radii corresponding to the thickness of the sheet. Polycarbonate filters can be supplied with a Fine Mat or Hard Mat surface for additional features.

Polycarbonate filters can also be produced as EMC filters with a welded metal mesh. In addition, it is possible to have the filters machined or silk screen printed.
