When shielding displays, the aim is generally to achieve as much light transmission as possible combined with the necessary EMI shielding – you combine the best from both worlds, so to speak. But even a solution effectively combining these two worlds is challenged when new types of displays are developed. Touch-screens are just one example of technology introducing new types of displays, and the design of the touch-screen makes many traditional EMI shielding display solutions impossible to integrate due to the already existing display window.
At the same time, the necessity of EMI shielding in existing applications arises. Many applications are already fully functional but to use them in, for example, the military or companies working with confidential information, EMI shielding becomes a necessity if you wish to avoid electronic eavesdropping. Also, you may wish to optimise an existing application or combine this with other features. PSC has found a solution to all of these EMI shielding challenges.
